The game

Prismloot is a loot RPG with automatic combat and a floor-by-floor descent. Here is how each piece works, as designed today.

Numbers and content reflect the current design and may change during development.

A run in four steps

  1. Floor 21: the hero fights three skeletons. Below, the health bar, the weapon skill and the combat log.

    Descend

Open the game and you are already descending: the first fight starts within seconds, with no account and no menus. Each floor is a fight of about 5 to 10 seconds, and a typical run lasts a little over a minute.

  2. A choice between two doors: dust or a random item.

    Pick a door

Every three floors you choose between two doors: a random item, an item for a specific slot, a chest with a guardian, a healing fountain, or dust.

  3. Card of the mythic item “Boots of the Descent” with its affixes and a comparison with what the hero wears.

    See what drops

A beam of light in the colour of its rank announces each item without pausing the fight. When the run ends, the good ones appear on a big card that flips with a sound.

  4. The hero with ten gear slots on both sides and, below, the rest of the items sorted.

    Equip and forge

Compare with what you wear, equip it, mark it as junk or lock it. With the dust from salvaging you upgrade items or reroll an affix.

The mechanics

Automatic combat

Side-on, in the top half of the screen: your hero on the left and one to three monsters on the right. A combat log tells you what happens and explains the effects (bleed, burn, freeze, poison), not every single hit. Your weapon's skill fires on its own.

You keep everything that drops

You descend until you die and keep all the loot. Your depth record is your leaderboard score. You can start from any 10-floor milestone you have already reached. There is no energy and no cap on runs.

Ranks and prismatic items

Six ranks: common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary and mythic. Any item can drop prismatic, with a rainbow shimmer and extra power: the ultimate trophy, and the only moment that pauses combat, with slow motion and a rainbow screen.

Legendaries and mythics

40 named legendaries with a fixed effect, one per slot and school, and 24 mythics with a rule that changes the game. Each mythic only drops in its own scenario, and you can only wear one at a time.

Four schools

Physical (bleed and crits), fire (burn and groups), ice (freeze and endurance) and poison (stacks, good against bosses). Your weapon decides how you fight, and effect chances are always per school, never one global number.

A hero with no class

Ten gear slots and six weapon families: sword, mace, bow, staff, dagger and spear. The off-hand is free (shield, orb, quiver or talisman) with any weapon. Power comes only from gear.

Always compare

Wherever an item appears, it is compared affix by affix with the one you wear, showing what you would gain and what you would lose. No comparing from memory.

A forge without risk

Dust, the only power currency, upgrades an item's level or rerolls an affix. When you reroll, you see the new line and choose between it and the old one: the item never gets worse, and nothing ever breaks.

Junk with a safety net

“Junk” marks an item and can be undone; only “Salvage junk” destroys it, all at once. The lock protects the items you want to keep.

Odds in plain sight

The game has a page with the probability of each rank on the floor you are on, and when each boss's guaranteed legendary drops. It is optional, but it is fair.

Codex, medals and leaderboards

A codex of the legendaries and mythics you have found, dozens of medals (none daily, streak-based or time-limited), and depth and collection leaderboards with your made-up display name.

Six scenarios

Crypt, Swamp, Forge, Glacier, Bastion and Abyss, 20 floors each, with their own monsters, boss and music. From floor 120 they repeat, harder.

What sets it apart

There are good loot games built around short runs. This is where Prismloot makes a different bet.
